Passport Services

A passport is an internationally recognized travel document attesting to the identity and nationality of the bearer. In essence, it is a request on the part of the issuing government that officials of foreign governments permit the bearer to travel or sojourn in their territories and to afford them all lawful aid and protection.

Processing Times

You can now apply for routine service and expect to receive a passport in 6-8 weeks. You also have the option of paying an additional $60 for expedited service to receive your passport in 2-3 weeks.

If you are in need a passport in the next 72 hours for a life-or-death emergency then contact the National Passport Information Center to schedule an appointment 1-877-487-2778.

To apply for a new passport you must personally come to the Justice Center or Murdock Administration Building

Passport Photos

In need of a passport photo? Our office offers a one stop shop where you can also get your passport photos at the same time when applying for a passport. Photos can be obtained at all three of our locations Charlotte County Justice Center in Punta Gorda, Charlotte County Administration building in Murdock and the Mac V. Horton West County Annex in Englewood.
